David de Gea: Manchester United goalkeeper will NOT be dropped despite recent mistakes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed David de Gea will play for Manchester United in their next Premier League match against Huddersfield.De Gea, the Spain international, has long been one of United’s greatest servants, having been named the club’s Player of the Season for four of the previous five years.De Gea has made a number of uncharacteristic errors this season1

However, his performances over recent months have fallen well short of his usual high standards, with a number of high profile mistakes made across the past few matches. His latest – a glaring error that secured Chelsea a draw in last week’s clash at Old Trafford – led to calls for Solskjaer to drop De Gea and give Sergio Romero the chance to play.Romero is widely regarded as one of the best backup glovesmen in world football, though he’s been restricted to six appearances this season – none of which have come in the Premier League. A number of fans want Romero to play United’s final two matches of the campaign, but Solskjaer confirmed De Gea will feature in Saturday’s visit to Huddersfield as his backup picked up an injury in training.“I would think so, yeah… he will play,” Solskjaer said in his pre-match press conference.“Sergio was injured yesterday so didnt train, tweaked his knee, so Davids been training well this week.”Solskjaer added on his under-fire keeper: “Towards the end now he’s been in headlines maybe for the wrong reasons, but, as I’ve said so many times, he has to deal with that.
