Fantasy Premier League tips: What is a free hit and why should you use it?
Fantasy Premier League managers face a testing weekend in their bid for min-league glory with just 10 teams in action.Youre likely to be struggling to field a full XI unless youve been extremely organised so right now many are considering using their Free Hit chip. Will you be celebrating with Mohamed Salah in your side this weekend thanks to your Free Hit chip?1
Will you be celebrating with Mohamed Salah in your side this weekend thanks to your Free Hit chip?

What is a Free Hit chip?

Consider it like a wildcard but for one week only. You can make unlimited transfers, as long as you stick to the usual rules, but your team will revert back to how it was next Gameweek.

Premier League fixtures this weekend

  • Bournemouth vs Newcastle United (Sat, 3pm)
  • Burnley vs Leicester City (Sat, 3pm)
  • West Ham United vs Huddersfield Town (Sat, 3pm) – live on talkSPORT 2
  • Fulham vs Liverpool – live on talkSPORT (Sun, 2:15pm)
  • Everton vs Chelsea (Sun, 4:30pm)

Why should you play it?

Using your Free Hit allows you to build a full 15-man squad capable of earning you points and with just Chelsea and Liverpool in action it means you can add players from smaller clubs without them joining your ranks for the long-term.You can either go for a strong squad or risk it and choose cheap and probably inactive players to boost your coffers for a player with a big fee like Mohamed Salah.

When else could you use it?

Gameweek 33 also has a reduced schedule so you could use it then, while you might also consider it for a double Gameweek (32 and 35).

Do your free transfers carry over?

Sadly not, if youve saved two free transfers you will lose them both, like you would by playing a wildcard.

Who should I sign using the Free Hit?

You can check out our top tips below as to which players you should purchase for this intriguing Gameweek.
